Hour of code

Year Four have really enjoyed taking part in the 'Hour of Code' over the last two weeks. The children were challenged to write code using both Scratch and Python and were very successful. Everyone who completed all fifteen challenges was awarded a special certificate.
If you want to try the challenges again at home they can be found on https://code.org/starwars

Weaving with the Celts

As part of our history topic on the Celts all of the children in Year Four have had the opportunity to try weaving on a simple loom. We made some very colourful woolen fabrics using traditional techniques.

Electricity games morning

What an amazing morning in Year Four today! Thank you to all of the mums, dads, nans and grandpas who came to support our Electricity games morning. The children were really creative with their designs and the adults provided excellent support in turning designs into reality. Well done everyone.

Lion King Theatre visit

Year Four trip to The Lion King
On Wednesday 28thJanuary one hundred and sixteen very excited children left Crosshall Junior School to travel to the Lyceum Theatre, London for the matinee performance of The Lion King.
The show was outstanding, full of the colours and rhythms of Africa. We saw creatures from the African plains brought to life by expert puppeteers and dancers. Birds were dancing above our heads and hyenas were sharing their jokes with us. The performance is part of our English module on ‘Stories from other Cultures’ and we are hoping for some very creative writing and artwork to be produced in school resulting from this visit.
The children of Year Four impressed us all with their enthusiasm and listening skills and it was fantastic for all of the team to receive an email from a member of the public who had attended the performance complimenting our children’s behaviour. Year Four, we had a great day and we are very proud of you.
