Year Four have displayed their amazing art in the Gallery and we wanted to share it with you.
Welcome to the Year Four website. On this website, we will be sharing examples of our children's work. This page is a workshop containing examples of learning in action. The work will not be the children's 'final draft’.

4MR 15 minute science challenge!
On Friday, the children in 4MR were given a science challenge. This required the children to work in teams, communicate effectively and apply their scientific knowledge.
Their task? Build a mini raft that could support a number of marbles... The winning team was the team that built the raft that could hold the most marbles before sinking.
They had only 15 minutes to plan, design and build!
Each team was given a piece of card, sellotape, 4 straws, 8 lollypop sticks and scissors. They could use nothing else.
The range of designs, ideas and scientific reasoning was impressive! Furthermore, their teamwork was outstanding.
The most creative design was definitely this one by Jessica, Lilly and Demirose! The girls wanted a flat, sturdy base and attached sealed straws at the bottom for buoyancy. They then created a pouch to hold the marbles. It held 7 before the raft toppled over. They soon realised they needed a bigger base! Well done girls!

But the winners, holding an incredible 14 marbles, were...
Finlay, Seth and Leo went for bigger surface area with a boundary to keep the marbles from rolling off. Their raft held 14 marbles before sinking! Well done boys!

Paxton Pits
Over the past few weeks, children in Year Four have been visiting Paxton Pits to support their habitats work in science.
The children travelled through time to experience how the site had changed since 160million years ago! They also got a sneak preview into the future too!
Each child was able to dig for fossils, search under logs for mini beasts, pond dip to see what lives in the water, sweep for insects in the long meadow grass and bird watch over the lake.
The children were so inspired by the day that they were very eager to take up the 30 days of being wild challenge at home! One boy even enquired about a future career in entomology!
Take a look at the pictures to see what we got up to...
